Vascular
The vascular specialist is an integral member of the wound care team. Successful outcomes are best achieved when referrals are made early, in well selected patients, and when patients have already benefited from initiation of diagnostic screening evaluation and testing. To achieve best practice standards the wound care specialist must have a high index of suspicion for vascular disease based on the presentation of the patient. This portal will provide the wound care clinician with the necessary knowledge to recognize “at risk” vascular patients and then to deploy a plan to evaluate, establish a diagnosis and provide directed intervention when appropriate. Our vascular CME/CEU courses will include lessons in vascular anatomy and arterial and venous disease processes. Options and criteria for diagnostic testing will be emphasized, and an overview and insight into surgical and endovascular management strategies will be provided. At the completion of these vascular CME/CEU courses the participant will be able to intelligently interact and communicate with the vascular specialist to facilitate the effective, efficient and clinically appropriate management strategies.
