Biography

Dr. Bartlett is a 1980 Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of South Alabama School of Medicine and is Board certified in both Hyperbaric Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery, a Certified Independent Medical Examiner, a Diving Medical Officer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a Hyperbaric Site Surveyor for the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society and is the Past President of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine. He is the Senior Medical Advisor for National Healing and is the Editor in Chief and founding member for the creation of two certification exams. One is the physician exam for hyperbaric medicine and the other is the physician exam for wound care. Educationally, he has participated in the hyperbaric training of more than 3,500 health care professionals. He lectures nationally and internationally on wound care and hyperbaric medicine and was the Keynote Speaker for the 2000 meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) where he addressed the Role of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Combat Casualty Management. In 2003 he was awarded the Edward Teller Chair for Hyperbaric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma, School of Medicine.

In addition to his 25 years of wound care experience he has also garnered considerable management experience through the creation and direction of several health care companies and one health care foundation. His interests include oxygen dynamics and knowledge engineering. Current research activities include medical applications of hyperspectral imaging, decision support systems and Gene Screen I, the world?s largest genomic registry for non-healing wounds.
