| YES. WebCME's Hyperbaric Medicine Principles & Practice provides in person training utilizing a variety of approaches. The entire core curriculum, including the online didactic lectures as well as the facility practicum, is material that can be discussed and reviewed via our unique and customized electronic interactive forums. Via E-Classroom WebCME provides direct instructor to student communication. E-Classroom educational collaboration actually exceeds the minimum standards of in person training as required by Medicare, as this education environment is available on an enduring basis after completion of the initial instruction. This ongoing educational opportunity strengthens and reinforces clinical concepts and fosters retention of the fundamental principles of hyperbaric medicine. |

| What is the method of learner participation in the learning process? | TOP | |
In some of our courses, the student will begin by taking a Pretest. Following each video session, the student will then complete both a post test and a CME evaluation for the session. At the conclusion of the course, a final test will be administered, and in some cases, a final CME survey. All of our exams and tests require a score of 100% to proceed to the next component of the course. If the student answers incorrectly, they will be notified and must correct their answer in order to proceed. |

| How do I obtain my credit certificate once I have completed the course? | TOP | |
| The participant is required to receive a passing score of 100% and complete a program evaluation in order to receive course credit. A certificate of completion will be generated and may be downloaded by the participant upon successful completion of the course material. To download your certificate, login and go to My Account/My Completed Courses. | ||

| After registration and payment processing, you will be able to log in to your account and access your course under the My Account/My Available Courses section of the website. | ||
| Does HMP&P meet the CMS educational requirements to allow physicians to practice and bill for hyperbaric services? | TOP | |
| YES!! CMS requires that physicians be credentialed by the medical staff of the hospital operating the hyperbaric facility. Hospital credentialing is based upon adequate initial training, logged HBO hours and documented continuing education. HMP&P fully satisfies the educational requirements and has been used as a basis to credential HBO physicians in over 100 hospitals. | ||
| Is a textbook required? | TOP | |
| Standard text and journal references are discussed to support the course. The student may elect to secure these on their own to further their education, but no single textbook is required. All powerpoint presentations are available for download as PDF handouts. These can be accessed via a hyperlink below the video for each session. | ||
| Is Hyperbaric Medicine: Principles and Practice Endorsed by a Professional Society or Organization? | TOP | |
| YES!! HMP&P is endorsed by the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine (ACHM). The ACHM has used this curriculum to train several thousand physicians. The ACHM also offers an examination to provide additional certification in hyperbaric medicine to hyperbaric physicians and has set basic training standards for clinical hyperbarics. To date, over 3,500 individuals have been trained and credentialed through the ACHM. These standards have been adopted by numerous hyperbaric facilities and by third party payers. | ||

| Currently, our courses are only offered in English. There are plans to offer courses in other languages in the future. | ||
| After successful completion of HMP&P, can I apply to take the Hyperbaric Certification Exam? | TOP | |
| Yes!! Completion of this course does satisfy the educational requirements to sit for most HBO certification exams by certifying “completion of a 40 hour course.” However, you must meet the other additional requirements. The American College of Hyperbaric Medicine does offer the Hyperbaric Certification Exam. Please visit www.achm.org for more details. | ||
| Is Hyperbaric Medicine: Principles and Practice a pathway course for CHT certification? | TOP | |
| With regards to hyperbaric and wound care certification, the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine has developed a CHWS(Certified Hyperbaric & Wound Care Specialist) exam that is offered at the annual ACHM conference. The Certified Hyperbaric & Wound Care Specialist Examination (CHWS) will confer competence as both hyperbaric and wound care technologists. The ACHM is also looking to expand the exam to include nurses, therapists and physicians assistants. The ACHM recognizes online education as being superior to live courses and will allow those whom have taken the Hyperbaric Medicine: Principles and Practice to sit for their exam. | ||
| How are institutional accounts processed? | TOP | |
Institutions can register for multiple WebCME accounts which are linked together using a Keycode. The group administrator should first create an "Admin Account" and create a Keycode for the group. Then non-administrator accounts can be created using the same Keycode for each student. The administrator of the group may purchase multiple courses and assign them to other accounts in the group. Additionally, the progress of each member is visible to the group administrator. |

| Is Hyperbaric Medicine: Principles and Practice recognized by the UHMS? | TOP | |
Unfortunately, no. The UHMS has united with the NBDHMT in opposition to online education for introductory hyperbaric training as a method of entry level training and as a pathway for certification as a CHT or a CHRN. However, our course is recognized and endorsed by the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine (ACHM). The ACHM has agreed with the large body of knowledge and the evidence based studies that support the efficacy and effectiveness of online training. The ACHM considers the educational needs of its membership to be a priority and strives to be proactive in providing state of the art training modules and contemporary educational opportunities to its members. The ACHM has therefore endorsed Hyperbaric Medicine Principles and Practice, as well as other online educational offerings. |

| What measures have been taken to validate the student's identity and course Participation? | TOP | |
Identity is established when a new account is created. Student emails are verified and passwords are encrypted. This information is checked against each other to verify the student’s identity. As a CME safeguard, certain measures are embedded into each video to verify the student is viewing the material. At random intervals throughout the videos, a dialog box asking "Are you still here?" will pop up and require an answer within 30 seconds. If the viewer does not respond, the video will be stopped and the progress will be reset to the beginning of the video. Participation can be monitored if the student’s account is affiliated with an institution’s group. The group administrator can monitor student’s participation by viewing the student’s progress through courses. |

| While most of our courses offer continuing education credits, currently only our Professional Wound Representative Certification Course offers complete certification. All other courses offer a certificate of completion which may satisfy requirements for a certification exam.
